Olfa Mahjoub is Associate Professor. She holds a PhD in Water Sciences. She is serving the National Research Institute for Rural Engineering, Water, and Forestry (INRGREF), Tunisia. She has more than 15 years of experience in wastewater reuse in agriculture and water quality. Her field of research covers also the emerging pollutants in water and soil. Cross-cutting aspects like social and regulatory aspects related to reuse of wastewater are among her fields of interest.
She chaired and co-chaired international projects funded by DAAD, USAID, UNESCO, USDA, etc. Since 2015, she is Member Observer of the Nereus COST Action ES1403 on emerging pollutants and reuse of wastewater. She is the Tunisian chair of the on-going project “Water in the World We Want – a Water-related SDG Evidence Framework for National Action”. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals, edited books, and conference proceedings. She is co-author of the policy-makers’ booklet “The Grand Challenge of Water Security in Africa - Recommendations to Policy Makers” (NASAC/German Academy of Science Leopoldina/BMBF). She is alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and DAAD, member of OWSD, and IWA.
